Unleash Your Artistic Talents: We believe in the power of your creativity, regardless of your age or background. Get ready to showcase your unique artistic abilities without limitations or boundaries.
Get Paid for Your Passion: As one of the 12 selected local artists, you'll be rewarded for your exceptional talent. This is not just an opportunity to express yourself artistically, but also a chance to be recognized, guided through our orientation program and financially supported for your craft.
Craft Masterful Expressions: We invite you to delve deep into themes surrounding the school-to-prison pipeline, cautionary tales, critiques of 'the system,' and your personal experiences with violence. Through the mediums of song, poem, or artistic conceptualization, your creations will have the power to inspire change and provoke meaningful conversations.
The Spotlight Awaits: Out of the 12 talented artists, four individuals will be chosen to shine brightly in their own music video and take the stage in an electrifying Autumn showcase. It's our way of celebrating your talent and giving you a platform to captivate the vibrant city of the 6ix.

Over the last year R.I.S.E Edutainment (@rise_edt) has been mentoring 8 emerging Black artists from across Ontario in a Residency Program where they had the opportunity to become Legal Artivists.
They learned how to apply the law as a life skill from lawyers and law educators. Next, they applied this knowledge to produce a mixtape of poetic, musical and visual works of art. They will now take stage and edutain: educating people on their legal rights while entertaining intelligent souls everywhere.

RISE 9th Annual Edutainment Summit
RISE established its annual ‘Edutainment Summit’ aimed to enhance access to resources for underprivileged youth, musicians, poets, rappers and other performing artists; essentially “bridging the the gap between emerging and professional artists” 🎤 👨🎨 🎶
This year our 3-day summit will highlight "The Business of Art" with workshops and panels both in person and online; to help you "make money while making art: beyond the stage & beyond the screen". The summit also features mentorship with industry professionals and Q&A sessions with Toronto's top music artists. 💰 🗣️🎨
Inflation is real and so is the struggle for emerging artists to make money, making art. This year the summit will focus on building skills to become an "ARTREPRENEUR". We have 4 workshops, 3 panels, 2 spolight performances, and 1 amazing showcase to wrap up this year's fesitivities! 👏 🎉 🎙️
