Legal Artivism: Virtual Residency Program

CALLING ALL BLACK ONTARIO ARTISTS - GET YOUR ART FUNDED

The Legal Artivism: Virtual Residency Program is a new 9-month program designed to promote access to justice for socio-economically marginalized and racialized Black youth through poetry, music and visual art. We will select 7 emerging Black artists from across the Province of Ontario - to join lawyers and legal educators with expertise on the youth justice system to create a responsive and engaging public legal education and information about the youth justice and education systems that uses poetry, music, and visual art to teach Black youth about their rights, the court process, and community-based supports for justice-involved youth.

Applications must be submitted no later than Friday March 18, 2022. The successful artists will be selected from a list of applicants by our panel of Artivists and Lawyers and will receive an honorarium.
