SAFETO CONFERENCE: Violence Prevention Symposium

  • Centennial College Event Centre 937 Progress Avenue Toronto, ON, M1G 3T8 Canada (map)

In 2023, The City of Toronto, in partnership with R.I.S.E. (Reaching Intelligent Souls Everywhere) Edutainment, launched the inaugural MASTERPeace Artist Project. This annual opportunity taps into Toronto’s artistic brilliance and provides a creative outlet to persons whose lives and communities have been affected by community violence to advance the public health approach of TO Wards Peace – a community centric, risk-driven community violence intervention program . The Artist Project supported 12 local Toronto artists as they created content and produce performances for an artist showcase and video series. R.I.S.E and the City Toronto are excited to launch the video series for 4 of the finalists.

MASTERpeace finalists will be featured at the SafeTO Symposium on September 18th-20th, 2024. The symposium will bring together participants from various sectors for an engaging program featuring keynotes, panel discussions, workshops, and more. The goal is to showcase innovative practices that advance community safety and wellbeing through a public health and data-driven approach to violence reduction.
